For the classifications of transporters, GraP did an initial screening for those potential transporters having transmembrane and transporter-related domains based on InterProScan results, then a homology-based curation against Arabidopsis and annotations from TransporterDB (http://www.membranetransport.org/) was used for further conformations. Meanwhile, comparisons of conserved protein domains between Arabidopsis transporters and their corresponding orthologs in G. raimondii were also performed for additional transporter candidates. Finally, 1788 genes and 3990 encoded proteins were categorized into 74 transporter superfamilies.
